Fall in Love with this Gorgeous Georgetown Wedding

I love videography because I get to create a timeless keepsake of a couple’s special day. For Nicole and Josh, however, I was able to do more than just shoot their wedding video- I got to surprise them!  The groom’s sister contacted me without letting the bride or groom know, and with the help of some other family members, they were able to book my services in secret.  They announced the good news to the happy couple on the night of their rehearsal dinner.  Although I hadn’t spoken to Nicole or Josh until their wedding day, all the festivities went without a hitch and their video is magical!

The ceremony took place at a small chapel in Georgetown.  Although space was limited, my fabulous assistant (who is also my fabulous sister) was able to use my backup camera to capture this emotional shot of the groom taking in his first glimpse of his bride drawing near.

The chapel couldn’t have looked more amazing; everything was just right!

After the heartfelt vows, the Wall wedding continued with a romantic reception at the gorgeous Kaminski House and Museum, one of the best historic Georgetown wedding venues.  This beautifully preserved 18th century home by the water created the perfect setting for Nicole and Josh’s friends and family to reconnect and celebrate their union together.

It was an enchanting evening of delicious dinner, drinks, and dancing under the stars. This amazing night finally drew to a close with a spectacular sparkler exit and the couple departed in a truck with the words “Just Married” displayed on the back window (courtesy of the loving bridal party!).  Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Wall!

Introducing a New Charleston Video Service!

Welcome to the Palmetto Films blog! The goal I have for this part of the company is to share new ideas and developments in the world of videography, as well as take the audience on a behind-the-scenes tour of our Charleston video projects. Palmetto Films is undoubtedly going to be an exciting journey; I’m just so thrilled to be pursuing what I’m passionate about while being able to serve others in the process. I want to use this first post to tell you a little about my background and my goals for this company.

Video Production Background

My knack for filming and editing became evident to me during my high school years when I was taking a Broadcasting and Media Production class. I slowly learned the basics of creating impressive and professional work through a series of unbelievably humiliating music videos and other related assignments. (I might even share these embarrassing videos from my past if I receive enough requests). I further pursued this talent and was appointed Producer of my high school news show my senior year; I went on to study this field even further by majoring in Communication Studies at Clemson University and working at Clemson Athletics Video Services and Clemson Broadcast Productions.

My videography experience developed further throughout the years; in between college semesters, I worked as a summer camp videographer for a wonderful organization. I absolutely loved my job here. Once, as we were walking together, a fellow staff member asked me why I liked being the videographer. My answer was simple: “I love capturing moments that are never going to happen again.” Catching a teenager’s infectious laugh or a meaningful look between two friends on video would fill me with a sense of incredible happiness; I knew I was surrounded by beautiful moments happening all the time, and being able to preserve those brief points in time is an unbelievable gift.

My enthusiasm for preserving such moments is most likely why I started shooting weddings and why I enjoy this work as much as I do. Being a newlywed myself, I know the energy and giddiness that accompanies one’s wedding day, and I want to preserve as much of those feelings and experiences for others as I can!

Goals for this New Charleston Video Production Service

The mission I have for this company, Palmetto Films, is to use my talent and skills to create products that are both artistic and captivating. As a Christian, I believe that everyone is called to excellence; I, along with everyone else, have been blessed with certain gifts that should not be wasted, but applied to benefit others! We are expected to always perform to the best of our abilities in all circumstances; this is the attitude that I bring to every project I undertake.

Stay tuned to this blog for future posts and updates! Also, be sure to check out our website for a full list of our Charleston video services.

Thanks!
